This black honey processed microlot is from the Finca El Mango farm in southern Costa Rica, owned and operated by the Ureña Rojas family.

The farm is managed with a sustainable system focused on reducing the carbon footprint, with shade management from mango trees, pollution protection for all the water sources on the farm, and specialized fruit trees to feed wildlife.

This lot utilizes a Black - or “full” honey process, where only the ripest cherries are selected to ensure high sugar content. These are dry pulped with a high mucilage retention and transferred immediately onto raised African beds where they are sun-dried for an average of 12-15 days. All of the milling, grading and bagging is done on site, affording the family complete control of the post-harvest process through to export.

The high altitude and black honey process create a truly exceptional coffee, with notes of honey and blackberry jam. Once you try it you'll keep coming back for more!

Excellent

I love this coffee. For me it is the right balance of strength and smoothness. It does not overwhelm me and yet at the same time, it satisfies my coffee craving

Delicious brew

Absolutely wonderful coffee. To me, it almost tastes like drinking slightly fruity chocolate. Great with cream but also delicious without. The best coffee I've tasted outside of visiting Costa Rica itself.

Best coffee

This coffee (along with the other Costa Rican blend and the Ethiopian blends) are by far the most delicious coffees I have ever had. Not too strong but full of flavour. My dad (who is the pickiest coffee drinker ever) also loves them and now won’t drink anything else!

Great depth of flavour

This is a great medium roast and makes great coffee regardless of your preferred method of brewing. I’ve done pour over, moka pot, and drip…always comes out perfect. Great single origin medium roast coffee.
