Kenya has some of the most exquisite coffees in the world, and ranks up there with Ethiopia as producing not only some of the world's best coffees, but those with unique and complex flavour profiles.

This is a top cupping lot from the Gatomboya coffee co-operative in Nyeri, which takes great care of its hundreds of smallholder farmers, and is famous for producing some of the best coffees out of Kenya.

Hand picked at peak ripeness, this 'AA' graded coffee is de-pulped, dry fermented, double washed, and then dried on raised beds. It has outstanding complexity, with exotic acidic fruit notes upfront (grapefruit/cranberry/lemon/lime) and a classic and super clean chocolate undertone.

The SL28 and SL34 varieties in this coffee, came from single tree selections in the 1930's to help grow exceptional coffee in Kenya, and are amongst the most highly regarded varieties in Africa. When light roasted, the brightness upfront really shines, and the acidity is balanced with a great depth of flavour.
