We have a soft spot for great Costa Rican coffee here at Black Creek. Our coffee tasting experience there in 2016 kick started this whole coffee roasting journey!
We are always on the lookout for extraordinary coffees, and this Tarrazu is no exception. This high grown caturra variety comes from a mountainous region in Costa Rica, known for producing some of the world's best coffees. The volcanic soil and the high altitude impart a very smooth texture and sweet butterscotch notes.
We roast this coffee to a light/medium level to bring out the sweetness and milk chocolate notes. It has very little acidity, and is one of the smoothest coffees we have ever tasted. As with many washed Costa Rican coffees, this coffee tastes very good black. Try it first before adding any milk or sugar, you might be surprised!
This coffee works best as a pour over, or drip coffee.
