Note for beginners: If you don't have a scale, you can make some general assumptions for your measurements below.
- 1 x heaped teaspoon of ground coffee (see pic below) = about 5g (grams)
- 1 x cup of water = about 240g / 240ml
- 1g of water = 1 ml (isn't metric wonderful)
E.g. For French Press you can use 2 cups of water (480g / 480 ml) and 6 heaped teaspoons of coarse ground coffee (6 x 5g = 30g). Which will give you a brew ratio of about 16:1, which is just right.
