Mexico Chiapas Comon Yaj Noptic Cooperative
Mexico Chiapas Comon Yaj Noptic Cooperative
This Organic, washed coffee, is sourced from the Comon Yaj Noptic cooperative in the highlands of the Sierra Madre de Chiapas in Mexico.
The cooperative of indigenous farmers was formed in 1995, and grow coffee in the El Triunfo Biosphere Reserve, which contains Mesoamerica's largest continuous cloud forest, and is a refuge for thousands of plant and animal species. They have the advantage of ideal coffee growing conditions, including a high altitude, a lush environment, and high quality coffee varieties like Typica, Bourbon, and Caturra.
This wonderful coffee is Fair Trade and Organic certified, and this particular microlot is specifically from the women members of the cooperative, with a premium being paid directly to them to contribute to gender equity in the region.
Due to the perfect growing conditions and top quality varieties, this medium roast organic coffee has notes of Almond, Cocoa, and Brown Sugar.
Available in Whole Bean or Ground
